Books of Poetry

Marlene E Purvis on Facebook

My books of poetry are now published. Each book has
about 500 pages, complete with an index at the back
and are available in both hard cover and soft cover. I
was going to print them off myself but my printer
refused to print the page numbers for some reason
and I am so tired of fighting with it. I tried everything
for months to get it to work but to no avail.

Both Editions will be available but so far only
Edition 2 is on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
( www.amazon.com and www.bn.com )

They will always be available at the following address;
please note that both Editions are on this site & you

Half Century Mark

HALF CENTURY MARK - TUES FEB 10 2009
this year would see half century mark
hard to believe ten years have gone by
dear little sister Pamela Jean
thinking of you I sometimes still cry
cry for the child who suffered so much
shunned, abandoned, often pushed aside
unwanted, unloved, craved loving touch
wanton destruction hard to abide
parents supposed to love and protect
sadly hers did not, could not shed a tear
nor see how tragic their outcome hurt
heart went out wished could erase all fear
shield her from harm help and guide her life
protection, unconditional love
those special tools she needed utmost
she sure shoulda been their special dove
always pushed her life beyond limits
dauntless enemy stalked her daily
sugar, chocolate, all sorts of sweets
still hear her candy, candy, candy!
Pam on this day we remember you
love you, miss you, still wish you were here
if you were this special day would say
fifty years deserves a heartfelt cheer

Hope you all enjoy this special poem. So
hard to really believe that this year in
June will be ten years since she left us.
Love you and miss you Pam!

So Glad they're back home

So far this month has been really busy. Sadly though have not
had the opportunity to babysit as it seems their calls into
work have slowed for a time. Not good when we are just getting
out of the Xmas season and into the new year. Hopefully things
change for Ter & Kim soon!

I had my appointments for my implants and they are now in and
not bothering me at all. I just now have a long haul of soft
foods for the next few months until they heal over and learn
patience while biding my time to have a full set of teeth again.
I am so looking forward to eating my favorite foods; raw veggies,
nuts, apples etc etc. Maybe once this all gets in place I can get
my liver disease under control.

On a side note for those who enjoy a laugh I really thought I was
doing just fine after my implant surgery; I was a walking, talking
unco-ordinated thinking machine. I even made so many spelling
mistakes when I updated facebook that I had lots of comments
rolling in. And the all time best one was I was really trying to help
my daughter with her password she needed at work; something
at least 12 to 15 letters long and because she was not liking the
ones I thought she knew or needed I guess I came up with Mel
is flying way up high in the sky or something to that effect. What
a silly prescription drug trip that was. Shortly after I did take 2
very cold ice paks, snuggled them in tight around my mouth and
neck and had a very good 1 hour sleep until my man really
thought I only wanted my usual 1 hour nap. But at least I was
feeling ever so much better.

That was the day of Kim's 29th birthday so later on that day I
had her bring the girls up for the evening as Kim was having a
few friends in for her party. The girls were really good for me
and were happy to spend the night with us. The next day they
had a bubble bath, made their mom a very special birthday card
each then after a bite to eat we went shopping at the dollar store
for each of them to buy their mom a very very special birthday
gift. Jersey picked out lilac/white stripe ankle socks and a
cute little bear with a heart that played a tune. Aria picked
out a medium purple nail polish and a pair of pale lime green
gloves. Each one packed their gifts in a cute box which they
also picked out especially for mom. I do think Kim enjoyed it.
No shopping trip is ever complete without a warranted stop at
the local DQ. The girls each had a Dilly Bar.. mmm so good too.

We took the girls home Saturday about 4 pm and were back home
about 5. About 6 pm Mike phoned and wanted to drop over after
our evening meal. I said sure; 730 sounds good. It was to be
our first time seeing Mike and Jen in about a year. I was so
happy to see them and we had a really good evening chatting and
checking out my new camera along with all the cute and sweet
gifts they brought us back from NZ. They both looked extremely
healthy and happy. I would say the trip and experience did them
both a world of good. I hear they want to travel some more and
do some more work experience. Know I will miss them but at the
same time I do really envy them. They are doing all the things
only most of us ever dream of doing. Way to go Mike and Jen.
Love you both so very very much.

I saw my doctor today and most of my tests are okay but because
I had a virus a couple weeks back 1 of the tests came back really
high so he wants another 1 run next month. Overall though he says
he is quite pleased with my blood pressure and sugar levels. I
took Geoff in with me today so he could meet my doctor as well
as get an up to date progress report on me.

I also have had lots and lots of trouble sleeping due to my hips
hurting. This has also created problems walking more than a block
as well as standing for more than 10 minutes. I finally got in to
see an orthotic specialist and now have special insoles which I
do hope will solve my walking, standing, and sleeping problems.

Well enough of my ramblings as I am sure there are other things
more important in life to do other than reading about me. Not
that I ain't all that special; I really am, at least to those
close to me.

Hope you are all enjoying your first month in our brand new year!

As this year draws to a close

Another Christmas has passed and as this year
draws to a close my thoughts keep wandering to a
distant land where my youngest son Mike and his
wife Jen spent Christmas exploring New Zealand. I
admire them as they have done something only most
of us dream of ever doing; having awesome careers
which allow them to travel to any country and work
their way through so as to experience life, customs
and traditions of other peoples while at the same
time realizing that their chosen vocations are put
to the test. Although nursing and teaching are quite
advanced in some countries in others they may be
considered primitive or even more advanced than ours.

I have enjoyed looking through all their pictures on
facebook; which they have told me is only a very small
portion of what they have really taken. I especially
enjoyed looking through their underwater pictures;
scuba-diving made to look even more fun possibly due
to knowing the divers.

This year as with many other years we spent Christmas
at Terry & Kims along with Clarence and Sherry as well
as two of Sherry's sisters, Jan and Allie and Allie's
husband Wayne. Mel, Ty & Neish were there as well, so
on our side we were only missing Mike & Jen. Clarence
managed to do a great job with the turkey again this
year, while Ter & Kim did the main course except for
the yams, the cranberries and our course this year
he asked me to do our families Xmas pudding. It was
a good Christmas and I am sure it will be remembered
many years down the road.

As for me I finally got the one thing I had wanted
and wanted for years; a telescope. I am looking
forward to exploring the night sky. My camera has
been failing the past few months so Terry's family
and Melanie's family pooled their money towards me
getting a new camera which I did buy on Boxing Day.
It is a Canon SX 110 IS so hopefully my pictures
will take on a new and improved image.

At this time I must extend my hand to each and every
one of you as very soon we will be entering into 2009.
I do hope that the New Year finds you all well and
content. May you find loads of love, joy, peace and
happiness throughout the coming year!

A Platinum Day

A platinum wedding anniversary
Nov 26, 1938 - Nov 26, 2008!

Today my husband, Geoff, is in Burnaby helping his parents to
celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary. Their official date
was Nov 26. Isn't that awesome and totally amazing. Just
imagine; 70 years of marriage which is so very rare.

Due to circumstances I was not able to go with him.
Today is a surprise come and go party for them in
their home with family and friends.

Congratulations Mom & Dad!

Memory Lane

Love to visit thotman and as always he triggers memories which
seem to have been left by the wayside for a few years.

Thinking back to Ross; his old car and the trips we took down to
the river to check on the cattle. On one of these many trips he
asked what the skunk had done. I had looked and saw it putting
down its tail; no sooner had I verbally said so than this awful
aroma hit our sense of smell.

Another time as we manuevered down the coulees the bottom
of the car hit a huge boulder; sadly the oil pan suffered extensive
damage. A long walk soon entailed. Just think, back then there
were no cell phones, only party lines which most people did not
use as extensively as we do today. Phones back then only served
a purpose. We always knew what was going on in the community
as well as we could listen in on conversations.

Oh my gosh has to be one of the most spectacular phrases I have
ever heard. There were 2 bachelor brothers who lived a mile from
our farm. On this one particular day for some reason my mom had
to go with them to High River to sell some eggs; 5 dozen in flats. I
cannot remember which one was driving but as he topped a knoll
the other side was looking straight into a ditch. As the car hit it head
on and came to a stop the only words which left his mouth were
"Oh my gosh". Now this was phenominal but moreso because I had
never heard anyone say anything so slow and without anger or
profanity. Oh by the way, not even 1 egg broke!

I learned to drive tractors very early in life; we had the old
John Deere R for many years. It was my all time favorite.
Road gear was 5 and it felt like you were flying at that speed.
We rarely ever used it. Rock picking, now there is a very boring
and tedious job but a job that had to be done. It always amazed
me how every year we picked the field clean and the next year
we had to do it all over again. Musta been the rock fairy. Hahaha

I would be remiss not to mention that there were a couple times
when my driving left us wondering if I really should be driving as
my attention span when I was 10 was more on the new Palomino
than on the "R". Only  when the tractor started down into the
slough did I realize my error. The tractor stalled and my dad
started yelling and I jumped right off, into the water and up the
bank. Luckily it started again and easily walked out of there. It
was a good lesson and one I never forgot.

In later years when I was about 13 dad bought an Alice Chalmer;
it had both a hand and a foot clutch. Of course I only knew about
the foot clutch and on this particular day my dad had me drive it
as he was working on the fence. When he said stop that old beast
just kept right on going. Only then did he tell me it had a hand clutch.

Some times I wonder if I was ever meant to drive that thing;
mom and dad had gone into town so I was in the field harrowing.
I was nearly done, just doing the last small cirular area when
suddenly I was getting drenched. I turned around and hit the
clutch just as the harrows were coming at me. When the harrow
caught on the rib of the back tire it swung up puncturing the tire
and spraying fluid all over me. Luckily I survived that incident. I
was more concerned though about how much trouble I was
going to be in as the tire was flat and it was my fault for not
paying closer attention. Live and learn and how fortunate
we are to be able to do that.

Sometimes I am so thankful that I am a quick learner. When I
got my license at 16 and was able to drive I thought speed would
be fun! (any teenager knows how exciting this is) Being in the
country we had lots of gravel roads but also lots of roller coaster
roads as well. On this particular day I took that part of the road
very fast. Up up we went and down down we went; it was thrilling
and exhilarating but I was quickly brought back to earth as the
chrome on my steering wheel had split my are open. Never again
did I take those kind of chances again. Once bitten, twice shy!

Well I must get this busy as both Aria and I hope to
help Neish with her flyers this morning.

A long awaited update

Well we are now halfway through our eleventh month of this
year and to be honest I cannot say truthfully that is has
been a productive year. I did manage to get my poetry all
lined up in booklet form but with the advent of a new pc
which is in itself a learning process because of Vista.
Besides Vista I now have Office 2007 and a new printer;
wouldn't you know it, all this has changed the layout of
my pages so now instead of having 40 pages I have anywhere
from 41 to 43 pages. And on top of that the page numbers
do not print even though they are visible on the print
preview. Talk about frustrating; I am totaly frazzled.
I changed the way I was going to put them together as
it turned out 12 volumes were too many for 1 Edition;
I now have 3 full Editions each with 8 volumes complete
and am working on the 4th Edition now with Volume 25
nearly finished.

In other news I now babysit my soon to be 4 year old
and my 6 year old granddaughters most weekdays. They
are so good when they are with Gramma but do tend to
cut up once they are back home again. They are both
very smart and I am sure they will do very well in
school.

Aneisha is growing up way to fast; music, dancing,
boyfriends. Gramma seems to be taking a back burner;
sure I miss her long chats and her visits but I do
realize that she is now a teenager with loads of
friends and many good time events on her agenda.

Geoff's parents will be celebrating 70 years of
marriage! Wow isn't that totally awesome and
radically inspiring.

Mike and Jen are back in New Zealand after spending
a few months in Australia; loving every minute of
their time there and now showing off the sights to
Jens parents. Only 2 more months to go; can hardly
wait to hug them both and wish them a hearty and
loving welcome home.

Ter and Kim are still trying to get their painting
business off the ground but it seems this is a
tough market to get into. Terry is a perfectionist
and won't do a patch up job. He is true and fast
and believes in getting the job done well.

Halloween was a great evening for everyone here in
our small city again. As usual Ty and Mel gave the
people everything they wanted and more; gave out
over 400 treats this year. Our evening is one of
fun and anticipation as we know that the people
coming love the excitement as well as the fear
instilled into them as they make their way up
that coming alive walkway. This year was so
exceptional also because the weather was so
warm it was shocking; Neish even wore shorts
as she was dressed as a hip hop girl. No one
wore coats so it was just costumes; this year
saw many darth vaders and pirates as well as
a few dinosaurs and some beautiful queens
and princesses.

All in all the year has been good but I find it
so hard to believe that we are nearing the end of
another year. I still do drive the odd trip for
Totem/Traxx when needed but due to my health can
not do this on a steady basis. Who knows, maybe
the new year will see a big improvement in my
health; can only hope and pray they do.

A peep into the most recent past events!

As so often happens, time has escaped me again. Heaven knows where it hangs it's hat but I am sure that it is somewhere where time has no end nor any meaning.

Well with that now out of the way I must try to play some catchup with all the most recent events which have transpired over the past 2 months. Mike and Jen are still enjoying their life of work and adventure in the lands down under though since mid July they have moved on to the much bigger counterpart known as Australia. They have kept us well informed on their travels with words and pictures (how true it is that a picture is worth more than a thousand words) ie: crushing boulders and strength unlimited! Am really looking forward to next year when Mike & Jen step back into our world again. Miss them so much but at the same time am so glad that they are doing this while they are yet young enough to enjoy it as well as the careers which they have worked so hard to attain that are in demand in other countries.

Mel, Ty and Neish went on a 3.5 week trip to Eastern Canada, New York city, Niagara Falls, with a return trip all across the top sections of the USA. They took hundreds of pictures and more importantly had a terrific trip. I was most fortunate to be invited to step in and fill Neish's shoes delivering her flyers. The weather was so darn hot I nearly died from heat exhaustion but determination came to the rescue. It is really nice to have them back home safe and sound.

Ter & Kim are working hard trying to build up their painting business but with Ter's back injury it does sometimes make it difficult to keep up a steady ongoing pace. I babysit their 2 young daughters now; Aria is 6 and Jersey is 4. They are most times quite priceless and easy to look after. Through a few trials and errors we have managed to glide smoothly over the few rough spots that have found their way in.

The month of October is really a busy month for birthdays and anniversaries. Geoff's & my anniversary, Me now 60, Neish 14, and many many more family birthdays then in Nov a few more birthdays. Gosh one would think we are all getting old or something.

It seems this whole year is slipping by just way too fast. Seems like it was only January a short time ago and now here we are in mid October. I am still battling my liver disease and rather than feeling like I am making progress I know that I am getting worse and worse. I seem to be so tired all the time and absolutely getting nothing really accomplished that I want to get done.

Halloween is just around the corner and as usual Mel & Ty have already got everything out for their Halloween yard display. This year features the headless bride and groom along with all their other fright night  sights. Already they have had people touring slowly past both day and night. If you have the nerve and the courage do slide on over to their hauntingly haunted house.

New Photo Albums

Was thinking about Thotman and his recent blog which was on Materialism in a Spiritual World; as so often is the way his thots provoke my thoughts into commission.

Of late it seems so many of us blogger's have either found other avenues of expression or have had our lives altered by outside influences or possibly a mixture of both.

So hence 3 new albums have found their way onto memory lane;

Friends of Yesteryear and today - such fond memories fill my world with rich rewards of those who have been a part of my life. Sadly though I do not have pictures of many others who helped shaped me into who I am today.

Nostalgia Lane - Early television shows were new to most people who lived in my era; it was truly a shocking phenomenon and became indelibly etched into my subconscious mind forever. Mickey Mouse Club, Lone Ranger, Cisco Kid, Zorro and many many more. Again I do not any of those pictures.

Fond memories - When my children were young, some of the places we saw, the farm where I grew up, my husband, his sister, the school buses I drove, badlands, trip to Montreal by air and the buses Geoff and I drove back. So many more memories flood my memory bank but again do not have those pictures to commemorate those sweet and precious moments back there in time.

Weighs Heavily

Sometimes some things weigh heavily
on my mind and no matter what I do
I just cannot seem to get past them
until I have verbalized my thoughts
and/or do something constructive
about it. In this case it is about
a young friend whom I cherish but
who also has a rough road to travel.
It is hard enough being a teenager
without added senseless stress
strapped on young shoulders. Please
read the following 2 poems; hopefully
I have managed to convey how deeply
I feel about this and how hard it
must be to be treated unfairly.
Wish I could be her special Gramma!

BALANCED FORM - (APR 22/08)
never say your child's not good enough
to be what you want not up to snuff
forcing them to what you deem is right
roughly throws them into frantic plight
be thankful they are not into drugs
better yet not one of gangster thugs
be proud of the good friends they choose
let them learn on their own win or lose
activities impeach balanced form
choosing their own is part of the norm
so what if their grades are not top grade
praise lovingly for achievements made

    copyright 2008 Marlene E Purvis

HARDER THEY TRY - (APR 22/08)
some parents truly just don't understand
how harping destroys those in their command
true we have expectations and desires
what we perceive best for our destined sires
do we care how they feel deep down inside
realize how much we take from their pride

belittling such a sweet innocent child
will not take too long till they drive them wild
perhaps down the road taking their own life
not knowing how else to end all this strife
perfection deemed for heavenly beings
us here on earth receive much less blessings

feel somehow must help them open their eyes
before too late hearing friends sobbing whys
emotional mental abuse rank high
child's frustration mounts harder they try
continual battle never be won
never ending dead end streets not fun

THOTMAN THOTS

Today a special poem for
a special space friend!

THOTMAN THOTS - (FEB 21/08)
ever done a space walk
not the outer limits kind
well worth stopping off
inner workings of the mind

literary knack
thots that inspire
every conceivable thot
conveys heart striking
emotionally charged bonds
striking memory chords
hits home ground
travels abroad
bounces back
honesty thwack

cognitive thots deserve merit
step boldly in Thotman's world
breathe in deep each poignant thot
realize thot processes now unfurled

FIRST TIME EVER

This is so extraordinary that I would be
remiss not to shout it out to the world.

From the time that Neish was 15 months old
she has developed a love for movies. Her and
her Grampa Geoff probably watched Walt Disney's
Beauty and the Beast close to 3 times a day for
at least 6 months to a year. In the first five
years of her life this became her all time
favorite movie. Even to this day Neish has
certain movies which she loves and can devote
herself to re-watching them over and over again.
Not only does she watch animated movies with this
much intrigue but also great movies like Titanic
and Gone with the Wind. (although they bring her
instantly to tears of sadness)

When Neish and her mom moved to Moose Jaw another
one of her senses was greatly influenced by her
introduction to live theatre. Ev and George, her
day care providers, were an awesome couple who were
deeply involved in producing their own productions.
Neish and Mel attended nearly every one of these
productions in the years they lived there.

Every so often Neish, Mel and Ty attend these live
performances and can attest to enjoying each and
every one they have seen. Last October Mel and I
ordered tickets for Beauty and the Beast which
we attended last night. This was my first time
ever to attend such a performance. I had no idea
what to expect especially when it was an animated
movie now being transformed into full life.

At first I was quite uncertain if I was going to
enjoy it but it wasn't long until I was deeply
moved by the acting abilities displayed as well
as the beautiful singing of everyone involved.
Hannah, who played Belle, has a beautiful and
most incredible voice and one can tell she loves
to sing. Her eyes were bright and sparkling along
with her whole being totally thrown into the part
she was playing. Mrs. Potts, the Wardrobe and so
many more were just as incredible.

Along with the individual singing the whole troupe
was exceptional. The acting combined with the occasional
display of humorous antics, especially those of Lumiere
and Cogsworth, were well appreciated. Gaston and his
cohort Lefou were superb as well as everyone else in
the show. Lefou's energy flowed naturally. I would
be remiss not to mention Gaston's great recovery. I
cannot single out every one but in case any of those
involved do happen to read this please be assured that
you are all included in this as well. Each and every
one of these people brought this show to life and helped
make this a show to remember!

Sometimes I think my daughter hates my critical nature
as I hate most TV shows and rarely watch movies as I
am not a real movie fanatic. Very few movies grab me
and make me wanna stayed tuned. So please believe me
when I say I thoroughly enjoyed this theatrical play
of "BEAUTY AND THE BEAST" I honestly do believe we
have great talent here in our fair city. RAH RAH RAH!

So Tragic

Yesterday my heart filled with sadness
as my daughter imparted the details of
the tragedy which befell the lady at
MHC who prints up my booklets for me.

She was on holiday visiting her daughter
in Athabasca. On Saturday, Feb 16th as
she was crossing the slush filled street
a drunk driver hit her.

Yesterday when I spoke to her co-worker she
said "the only miracles are that she does
not have any brain injuries and that she is
still alive." So many of her bones were
broken so it will be at least 2 months
before we know whether she will be able
to work again. She is not even able to
use either of her hands.

Ronnie is a fighter and I know she will
succeed in healing quickly. My heart and
prayers go out to you Ronnie!

Worst Part Now Finished

Well today sort of starts a new day. I have finally managed
to complete the sorting and cataloguing of all my poetry.

This process took much longer than it should have as my
printer balked a bit with the 100 pages per volume so had
to adjust it to a more reasonable level.

Once the decision of making 40 pages the magic number
was in motion then there seemed to be no looking back;
although at many times the decision to scrap it all did
try to slip in but that notion was quickly tossed out.

Talk about insanity! How could I even think of something
that horrific after all the hours and days and months
I had devoted to this task.

Sometimes I think the human mind is just all too powerful!

Up to this point in time I now have a total of 22 complete
volumes; working on volume 23. I hope to soon get them all
printed. Once complete then will put 12 volumes into each
of the two editions I am planning to utilize.

Just to give you a rough idea each volume has about 70
poems so that means I will have written nearly 1800 poem
by the time I reach volume 25. At this point in time I have
just over 1575 poems.

I started writing poetry as a release for my pent up emotions
as it seemed I had no way to vent them. To keep them bottled
up inside would release a violent storm leaving me stranded
in the destruction I had caused thereby increasing the need
to make even more amends. Most times once I have put them to
paper they seem to alleviate; some tend to totally disappear.

In later years I wrote in a different style to try to help
relieve the stress my daughter was feeling by perhaps adding
some humor to kick start her day. This trend has carried on
now for at least five years so I still write a poem a day so
as to carry on this tradition. There is a good probability
that these daily readings will be missed once I am gone but
at least once these are put in print then all of them will
have the opportunity to read them all again and again.

They say variety is the spice of life; Amongst the pages of
these volumes one should find such awesome treasures; an
array of spices to compliment their lives.

For those of you who have felt abandoned over the past few
months I do ask that you try to forgive me. Even though it
seems we have lost contact I can assure each and every one
of you that you have always been in my thoughts. Many of
you are among these pages of my literary collection for you
are all my dearest friends.

1月7日

Oh no! My space missed it!

Where has the time gone?
Cannot believe it bypassed me so quickly!

Hope you all had a great holiday and now
wishing you all lots of love, peace and
ongoing happiness throughout the
NEW YEAR! Welcome to 2008!

May it be both rewarding and prosperous!

you somehow managed to survive

softly enters the bitter sweet
you've rolled round becoming a teen
makeup applied hair styles accrue
wildest scenes ever to be seen

generation gap now fulfilled
coping along with all your peers
though at times life pushes you down
climb back out through laughter and tears

not a soul really understands
raw emotions swell without rhyme
love it hate it yes no please do
mixed up feelings doing the time

one true fact slowly comes to light
one thing's certain you must agree
mom and dad been where you now stand
grandparents as well just like me

maybe not now will you believe
hindsight is great many years past
but for today live and enjoy
make these years an explosive blast

love you so much little miss Neish
Mom’s precious gem worth more than gold
Gramma's treasure so warm and dear
always forever to love and hold

Space Walkin'

Space Walkin'
Sometimes I have to go whole hog and create
something which I know will help boost my
spirits so a few days back I changed and
re-arranged my site into what I hope feels
warmer and more inviting. Although I am
almost certainly positive that I could make
it sky blue pink and no one would notice as
they have come to see if I have imparted any
words worth reflecting on. But just in case
I am wrong, I do hope you find the change
a welcoming addition.

Today I was surprised to find an old space
friend had popped in to say hello. It seems
she has also had a rough go round the past
few months with her health as well. I do hope
that her health issues are now far behind her
in the rearview mirror and eventually fade
into nothingness.

Today I was out doing a bit of space walkin'
and as I often do I stopped in to see what
Thotman had been serving of late. As usual
his blog brought about and awakened my now
dormant thought processes. Thank you again
thotman. I don't consider myself inane but
honestly sometimes I am totally inane. I
guess in some ways I am selfish as I cannot
seem to get out of myself to give to others
who might need to hear from me or to just
have me drop by and say hello.

Hopefully a few of you out there in spaceland
have the time to stop by and see the owner of
this space and wish her well on her road back to
health. Wishing you the best of the best, Lori!

My oh my! School has started already

Sure don't know where the summer has gone but
it seems to have passed me by so fast. It has
been a very busy year so far and for some odd
reason I don't think it is going to get any
better before year end.

I am still battling with health issues but at
least now I may have a better chance as there
is a good possibility that I have a doctor once
again thanks to my specialist in Calgary. She is
quite impressed with the weight I have lost so
far and wants me to lose 7 more lbs. I really
hope to lose more than that but only time will
tell. At least now I do feel somewhat more
postive about my life.

Also the move from a nice cozy little house into
a small plain drab apartment has been stressful
to say the least and money has become so much
tighter now. The worst part is that winter is
just around the corner but I guess we should be
thankful we are not moving during that season.

It is taking a long time to unpack this time
round; heavens knows why. Maybe I am just getting
too fussy in my old age.... ya right! Maybe while
I am at it I should just cry me a river and get
it over and done with. Once all that water gets
under the bridge I should be on the home stretch.
Whatcha think? Ya me too.

Sure hope all my space buddies are doing well.
Hope to pop in and check on y'all later on.
Until then take care.

Look Ma! All Gone

Wow! Where has it gone. Cannot believe it
has passed on so darn fast. Guess that is
what happens when life gets in the fast
lane. Between appointments in Calgary and
packing as the house we are in sold within
2 days of listing, have not even had time
to breath let alone check out when I last
made an entry... but ... I have been around
a few times to visit many of you although
many times do not leave a comment.

Congrats Corrina on your tag entries winning!
Am really glad you and your son had a great
holiday. Once am moved and settled back in
will have more time to fill you in on events
and health related issues as well.

Everytime I stop by to peruse the world of
Thotman I become more and more susceptible
to the warmth of his inner soul and often
find myself wanting to head down the highway
to meet this man and tell him what a great
friend he would be and how proud I would be
to have him as my friend. Although I may not
always leave a comment I do pop in to visit
and always leave with an abundance of thoughts
and warmth to carry me through till my next
visit. You are a treasure and not one that I
am willing to part with.

Hope that everyone has had a great summer so
far. This summer has been so different and
so exceptional as well as very busy. Just to
name a few; had 3 of our granddaughters here
for part of the summer as well as Geoff's
sister has come for a visit. Sure hope she
enjoys her stay although it may be a bit
topsy turvy with our move. Mel and Ty just
came home last night from their 10 day
building excursion to Mexico and to our
delight we managed to squeeze in a play
by play of their trip both the humorous as
well as the reality jolts of poverty. All
in all they found it an awesome experience
and one they want to share again though
next time with Neish.

I would be remiss not to wish our little
Aria well as yesterday found her to be
very ill with what seems to be a very
bad case of the flu. Love ya sweetie
and hope you are soon feeling so much
better so that you can enjoy your visit
with your cousin Alison.

Neish is now at camp till Friday; hope
she has another great year out there
at Eagles Nest Ranch! She is getting
so excited about school starting again
and can hardly wait. Sure hope she can
maintain that attitude throughout her
learning years. She was so sad when
summer came; it is kinda funny but I
really don't recall ever feeling that
way when I attended school.

Jen's Grad

Jen's Grad June 14/07

We left home at 0545 for Calgary. We arrived
about 0845 at the University of Calgary with
phone directions from Mike as to where to go
and where to park. Once inside we procured
good seats near the front and surprisingly
not far from where Jen would be seated.

The ceremony started at 0945 with a jazz
band entrance of all the officials of the
U of C followed by staff and a solo bagpipe.

A surprise for us was the honorary degree
bestowed upon Murray McLauchlan for his
accomplishments and his talents. Murray is
a songwriter/singer who has received 9 Juno
Awards and has 19 albums out.

I have put up a new album Jen's Grad June 14

After the ceremony and a few pictures we all
travelled to the Taj Mahal for their superb smorg.

After gifts and an enjoyable visit we left
for home arriving about 1800. Very tired
but also very glad we were able to go.

Way to go JEN! Rah Rah Rah Love ya lots

Visiting my sisters goat farm

Goat Farm Visit - Sunday June 10/07

We decided to travel East about 2 hours to
visit Teresa and Walter and to see their
goat farm. My sister, Teresa, had told me
they had lots of baby goats and that they
were so adorable. So we just had to head
out there to see how adorable they were.
Check out the new Album; you will agree!

We decided to take 2 of our granddaughters,
Aneisha and Aria, and Neish's friend Taylor.

We all had a great time and we all got to
ride on the Quad to check out the farm.
The view from the hill top was fantastic.

Lots of fresh air, fun and exercise as well
as great food and company made for a very
memorable day.

Must be sure to make time to get out there
again before too long.

Thank you Teresa and Walter! Love ya!

Hey hun :-)

How are you doing?  Thought I'd get my buttocks in here before I headed off to bed.  I'm done with moping around in here after my Friday night plans went awry and ready to go lie down to read for a little bit before I crash out.
Do you have any plans for this weekend?  I have no idea with myself ... definitely cleaning and laundry ... oh and cleaning my stinky car too ... but other than that I have no idea.  Hopefully something fun though. :-)
I hope you have a great weekend! ♥  We all certainly deserve it, don't you think?  :-)

((Big Hugs for you))
